Another provider may need to fix the underlying service. When that coordination is in scope, we still track the business impact, manage the handoff, and make sure someone owns the next step.
A useful handoff
This applies whether the vendor is your internet provider, a software publisher, or your phone carrier-see business phone systems and VoIP for that specific handoff.
Name the affected people, workflow, system, and known change without sending credentials or private exports.
Use the documented support path, commercial owner, and authority boundary for the service involved.
Share only the appropriate context, follow the next action, and preserve the chain of responsibility.
Bring material cost, policy, risk acceptance, or service change back to the business owner.
Honest boundaries
Track known provider contacts, issue context, escalation follow-through, dependencies, approvals, and the link back to the employee or business impact.
Another vendor’s availability, response, diagnosis, warranty acceptance, contract terms, access, or outcome. Those remain with that provider and the relevant agreement.
Our IT assessment helps identify current handoff gaps. If you are preparing a provider change, use the switching guide to inventory vendors and open work.
Reach the team
Share your team size, current support setup, and the responsibilities you want clarified. We will use that to figure out whether an MSP introduction makes sense.
